KC area defender visiting I-State

Head coach Matt Campbell’s plan as head coach at Iowa State is to recruit the Midwest heavily, and especially within a four-hour radius of Ames. One recruit high on the staff’s wish list is a defensive end prospect from a Kansas City suburb.

Overland Park St. Thomas Aquinas Class of 2017 recruit Angel Dominguez, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound strongside defensive end, said he’s hearing frequently from ISU and is looking forward to his trip to Ames for an Elite Junior Day this weekend.

Although he has since received an offer from Northern Illinois, Dominguez said it was I-State that got the ball rolling with an offer in January.

Dominguez said he’s also hearing frequently from Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Arkansas and Florida State.
