Early offer puts I-State on top

After offering a scholarship during the month of May following spring evaluations, Iowa State hopes to land a Class of 2018 athlete from the Ohio high school ranks for an unofficial visit soon.

Bedford rising junior Davion Johnson said he's evaluated the Cyclones since picking up his offer and likes the fit.The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Johnson has been primarily recruited by Bryan Gasser, but says he's also communicated with I-State head coach Matt Campbell.

In addition to his lone offer from the Cyclones, Johnson has been recruited by Syracuse and a host of schools from the MAC.
